Suspects detained for robbery and theft in Baku

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the detention of several individuals involved in criminal activities in the capital

Several criminal incidents have been solved in the capital, and suspects have been detained, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) told Operative Information Center-OMM.

In the Nizami district of Baku, two unidentified individuals threatened a 54-year-old man with a sharp object and seized money from his jacket. As a result of measures carried out by police officers, 42-year-old Jabir Alakbarov and 34-year-old Nazir Ismayilov, both of whom have previous criminal records, were detained on suspicion of committing the robbery. Additionally, 37-year-old Ikhtiyar Nabiyev and two others were apprehended for allegedly stealing mobile phones and jewelry from markets and shopping centers in the same district. Police also detained Elvin Imanov and Samir Huseynov for the theft of motorcycles belonging to couriers. Each incident was captured in detail by security cameras.

The MIA stated that investigations into these facts are ongoing, and law enforcement agencies continue to take measures to solve crimes and ensure public safety in Azerbaijan. These operations are part of the broader efforts by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to maintain law and order and combat organized crime within the capital city and across the Republic.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan regularly conducts such operations to prevent criminal activities and protect the property rights of citizens. The integration of modern surveillance technology and rapid response units has significantly increased the detection rate of street crimes and robberies in Baku in recent years.
