Yellow and orange weather warnings have been issued regarding the expected windy conditions in Baku, the Absheron Peninsula, and various regions of Azerbaijan from April 11 to 13.

The National Hydrometeorological Service informed the Operative Information Center-OMM that a north-westerly wind is forecast for the capital and several provinces. According to the yellow warning, wind speeds in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, as well as in Nakhchivan, Khizi, Siyazan, Guba, Khachmaz, Shabran, Ganja, Shamkir, Gazakh, Tovuz, Agstafa, Gadabay, Aghdam, Kalbajar, Lachin, Zangilan, Yevlax, Barda, Tartar, Neftchala, Lerik, Yardimli, and Gobustan, will range between 13.9 and 20.7 m/s.

A more severe orange warning has been issued for Goranboy, Naftalan, Dashkasan, Mingachevir, and Gusar. In these areas, the north-westerly wind is expected to intensify significantly, reaching speeds of 20.8 to 28.4 m/s. Authorities advise residents in the affected regions to exercise caution, secure outdoor property, and stay updated on further meteorological developments to ensure public safety during the period of high winds.

Weather warnings in Azerbaijan are categorized by color to indicate the level of potential risk to infrastructure and public safety. A yellow warning signifies a moderate risk, where weather conditions may lead to localized disruptions, while an orange warning indicates a higher level of danger, suggesting the possibility of damage to power lines, trees, and temporary structures due to gale-force winds.
