In an effort to enhance the quality of public transport services, the buses operating on route 135 are being replaced with modern, environmentally friendly vehicles.
As reported by the "Operative Information Center-OMM", this initiative is being implemented by the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), which operates under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
According to the official statement, starting August 1, the diesel-powered buses currently serving the regular route 135, which connects the city of Khirdalan with the "Memar Ajami" metro station in Baku, will be replaced by high-capacity "Iveco" brand buses equipped with CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) technology. This transition is part of a broader strategy to modernize the capital's public transport fleet, reduce carbon emissions, and improve overall service reliability for commuters.
Payment on these new buses will be strictly cashless. The fare for the route has been set at 0.60 AZN.
The modernization of public transport in Azerbaijan is a key priority for the government, aimed at creating a sustainable and efficient urban mobility network. By transitioning to CNG-powered vehicles, the authorities seek to align the capital's transport infrastructure with international environmental standards while providing passengers with safer and more comfortable travel options.
