Traffic congestion has been reported on several major roads in Baku, impacting the morning commute for many residents.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) has issued an advisory regarding the current traffic situation in the capital of Azerbaijan.

According to the latest data, heavy traffic is currently observed in the following areas:

  • Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 January" metro station;
  • Tbilisi Avenue, from the "20 January" metro station toward the city center;
  • Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Ahmad Rajabli Street to the intersection with Ataturk Avenue;
  • 1st Lake Side Road, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue.

The Intelligent Transport Management Center regularly monitors traffic flow across the capital to ensure public safety and efficiency. Drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance and consider using alternative roads to avoid delays during peak hours. Such congestion is often attributed to the high volume of vehicles entering the city center from suburban areas during morning and evening rush hours.
