A yellow weather warning has been issued for Baku, the Absheron Peninsula, and several other regions of Azerbaijan due to strong winds expected on July 19-20.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the National Hydrometeorological Service has released an official advisory regarding the upcoming weather conditions.
The warning covers Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, as well as the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Kalbajar, Lachin, Zangilan, Jabrayil, Fuzuli, Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz, Shabran, Siyazan, Khizi, Saatli, Shirvan, Hajigabul, Neftchala, Salyan, Bilasuvar, Jalilabad, Lerik, Yardimli, Dashkasan, Goranboy, Naftalan, and Ganja. According to the forecast, north-westerly winds are expected to reach speeds of 13.9 to 20.7 meters per second.
The National Hydrometeorological Service, which operates under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, regularly monitors atmospheric changes to ensure public safety. Such warnings are standard procedure during periods of unstable weather to help citizens and local authorities prepare for potential disruptions caused by high-velocity winds.
