Baku Metro CJSC has implemented new measures to regulate passenger flow and optimize train schedules across its network. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the joint-stock company, these changes aim to enhance the efficiency of public transportation in the capital.

In response to the observed increase in passenger numbers, the following adjustments have been made to the movement schedule through technical system upgrades and the application of digital solutions:

  • During peak hours, 36 pairs of trains per hour now operate in both directions on the "28 May–Ahmedli" section.
  • During midday periods—specifically 12:30-14:30 and 16:00-17:00—intervals on the Green and Red lines have been reduced by 30 seconds.
  • To alleviate congestion during morning, afternoon, and evening peak times, empty reserve trains are being deployed directly to the "Koroghlu", "28 May", "Ganjlik", and "Elmlar Akademiyasi" stations.

The Baku Metro, which serves as the backbone of the capital's public transport system, continues to modernize its infrastructure to accommodate the growing urban population in Azerbaijan. These operational shifts are part of a broader strategy by the Cabinet of Ministers to improve urban mobility and reduce the reliance on private vehicles, thereby decreasing traffic congestion in Baku. As the primary rapid transit system in the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Baku Metro remains a critical component of the city's daily logistics and economic activity.
