Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) has announced that there are currently no plans to implement significant price reductions for tickets on the Baku-Tbilisi-Baku route.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Azer Farajov, head of the Passenger Transportation Department at ADY, stated that tickets for this international route are already being offered at minimal rates.
Addressing concerns regarding rolling stock, Farajov clarified that there are no safety risks associated with integrating older-model carriages into newer train sets. "This practice complies with technical operational regulations, and the attached carriages are fully compatible with the speed and functionality of the train," he noted.
The Baku-Tbilisi railway connection serves as a vital link in the regional transport network, facilitating both passenger and freight movement between Azerbaijan and Georgia. As part of the broader Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, the modernization of railway infrastructure remains a strategic priority for the Republic of Azerbaijan to enhance connectivity and passenger service standards across the South Caucasus.
