The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan has introduced amendments to the "Classification of specialties for vocational education," originally approved by Decree No. 178 on October 31, 2011.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Prime Minister Ali Asadov has signed a new decree formalizing these changes to the national education framework.
The updated classification includes several new specialties designed to meet the evolving demands of the labor market. The newly added fields include:
- Event planning and organization, sales and marketing, and procurement organization;
- Mechatronics and digital production control systems;
- Digital content management and 3D digital game design;
- Plant protection and fumigation technician;
- Geodesy and cartography;
- Food processing technologies;
- Digital construction specialist;
- Electric meter technician.
This initiative is part of the broader strategy by the government of Azerbaijan to modernize the vocational education and training (VET) system. By aligning educational programs with contemporary industrial and technological requirements, the state aims to enhance the employability of graduates and support the country's ongoing economic diversification efforts.
