Unstable weather conditions are expected across Azerbaijan starting April 19, with intermittent rain forecast for mountainous and foothill regions, extending to other parts of the country from April 20 to midday April 21.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the National Hydrometeorology Service, precipitation is expected to be briefly intensive in certain areas. The forecast includes lightning, hail, and snowfall in some high-altitude mountainous regions of Azerbaijan.
Authorities have warned of rising water levels in rivers, with a high probability of short-term flash floods in several mountain streams. Such weather patterns are typical for the spring season in Azerbaijan, where rapid temperature shifts can lead to sudden atmospheric instability, particularly in the Greater and Lesser Caucasus ranges. Residents and travelers in these regions are advised to exercise caution near riverbeds and mountainous terrain during this period of heightened meteorological activity.
