On September 4, law enforcement authorities in Azerbaijan conducted a series of operations resulting in the seizure of 9 illegal firearms, including 2 automatic rifles, 1 pistol, 1 grenade launcher, 1 grenade, and 6 rifles. Additionally, officers confiscated 4 magazines and 70 cartridges of various calibers.
This information was confirmed to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). The ministry noted that these actions are part of ongoing efforts to ensure public safety and maintain order across the country.
In addition to the weapons, the operations led to the seizure of nearly 21 kilograms of narcotics and 72 potent psychotropic pills. The Ministry of Internal Affairs regularly conducts such operations throughout Azerbaijan to combat organized crime and the illegal circulation of weapons and drugs, which remain key priorities for the national security apparatus in maintaining stability.
