On July 10, law enforcement agencies in Azerbaijan successfully intercepted and seized over 36 kilograms of illegal narcotics. The operation was part of an ongoing nationwide campaign to curb drug trafficking and distribution.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the confiscated substances included nearly 2 kilograms of heroin, over 33 kilograms of marijuana, and approximately 400 grams of methamphetamine.

In addition to the seizure of processed narcotics, authorities conducted extensive measures to identify and eliminate illicit crops. During these operations, 11 tons and 770 kilograms of wild-growing cannabis plants were discovered and subsequently destroyed.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs regularly conducts such operations as part of Azerbaijan's broader strategy to combat organized crime and drug abuse. These efforts are critical to maintaining public safety and ensuring the rule of law within the country, reflecting the government's commitment to strict narcotics control policies.
