The European Commission has begun transferring €3.9 billion to Ukraine for the procurement of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as part of a broader €90 billion support credit facility.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the European Commission's press service confirmed the disbursement. This €3.9 billion payment represents the first tranche of a total €6 billion allocation specifically earmarked for drone acquisition, which is considered a critical component in bolstering Ukraine's defense capabilities.

This financial support follows a previous transfer of €3.2 billion on June 25, which was part of a special macro-financial assistance program. The European Commission stated that the remaining portion of the initial drone procurement tranche will be disbursed in the coming days, contingent upon requests from the Ukrainian side.

Brussels further noted that subsequent payments under the support framework will be directed not only toward UAV procurement but also toward the acquisition of ammunition, missiles, and air defense systems. This ongoing financial assistance underscores the European Union's commitment to supporting Ukraine's military requirements amidst the ongoing conflict.
