The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has extended restrictions on its airspace until at least April 27, amid rising regional tensions.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing TASS and sources within the Middle East air traffic control services, that the measures were implemented in response to military activities involving US President Donald Trump's administration, Israel, and Iran.

According to the report, UAE airspace will remain partially closed through the end of the week, with only a limited number of routes operational for commercial aviation. Currently, only six corridors are open for flights arriving at or departing from local airports, while two additional routes have been designated specifically for traffic toward Qatar. Aviation authorities have issued formal warnings to international carriers regarding potential risks and now require the submission of advance risk assessments for all flights. This mandatory safety procedure is expected to remain in place until May 7.

The UAE serves as a critical global aviation hub, with Dubai International Airport consistently ranking among the world's busiest for international passenger traffic. Maintaining the safety of these flight paths is a strategic priority for the region, as the Gulf serves as a primary transit point between Europe, Asia, and North America. These precautionary measures reflect a broader commitment to civil aviation safety during periods of heightened geopolitical friction in the Middle East, ensuring that international flight standards are upheld despite regional security challenges.
