In Iran, significant restrictions have been imposed on the operations of several airports in connection with the funeral ceremonies for the late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Iran Airports Company has announced that Tehran's Mehrabad Airport will completely suspend operations on July 3 and July 6. Furthermore, the airport will operate with limited capacity on July 4, 5, 7, and 8. Additionally, Mashhad International Airport is scheduled to cease operations entirely on July 9.

The funeral proceedings for Ali Khamenei are set to take place at the Mosalla complex in Tehran on July 4-5. Following the ceremonies in the capital, the procession will move to the city of Qom. After final tributes in Qom, the late leader will be laid to rest in Mashhad on July 9, in accordance with his last will and testament.

The death of Seyyed Ali Khamenei occurred on February 28 during a joint attack by the United States and Israel on Tehran, which also resulted in the deaths of several close family members. Following his passing, his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, was selected as his successor. These logistical disruptions at major transport hubs reflect the extensive security and organizational measures being implemented by Iranian authorities to manage the large-scale public gatherings expected during the mourning period.
