Traffic congestion at the intersection of Tbilisi Avenue and Abdulvahab Salamzade Street in Baku's Yasamal district is being eliminated through a new infrastructure project. This initiative, implemented within the framework of the "State Program for 2025–2030," significantly facilitates the movement of both drivers and pedestrians in the capital.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the official information was released by the Azerbaijan Yerüstü Nəqliyyat Agentliyi (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. According to the agency, a median strip in the area has been removed, providing direct access from A. Salamzade Street toward Ziya Bunyadov Avenue and the "20 January" circle. The project was executed in coordination with the Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Intellectual Transport Management Center.

Previously, vehicles traveling from Ghalaba circle via A. Salamzade Street toward Ziya Bunyadov Avenue had to perform a U-turn on Tbilisi Avenue. This maneuver required drivers to merge into the left lane over a short distance, significantly reducing the speed of oncoming traffic and causing chronic bottlenecks. Under the new configuration, the need for these U-turns has been eliminated, ensuring a continuous flow of traffic. Additionally, the intersection is now regulated by traffic lights, creating safer crossing opportunities for pedestrians. This project is part of a broader urban development strategy in Azerbaijan aimed at modernizing transport hubs and reducing the carbon footprint by minimizing idling time in traffic.
