Heavy traffic congestion has been reported on several central roads and main arteries of Baku, causing significant delays for commuters in the capital.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Digital Development and Transport Agency's Intellectual Transport Management Center (NIIM) has released official data regarding the current road situation.

According to the NIIM, traffic density is currently observed in the following 15 directions:

  • Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of "20 January" metro station;
  • Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards "20 January" metro station;
  • 1st Gol Kanari road, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;

The Intellectual Transport Management Center (NIIM) monitors the flow of traffic in Azerbaijan's capital using a network of cameras and sensors to provide real-time updates to drivers. Such congestion is typical during peak hours in Baku, as the city continues to expand its transport infrastructure to accommodate a growing number of vehicles. Authorities advise drivers to use alternative routes where possible to avoid delays and ensure smoother transit through the capital's main transport hubs.
