A 15-year-old student has been detained in Baku for posting security threats and offensive content targeting a local secondary school on social media. The incident, which occurred on April 18, involved threats directed at School No. 87 and its teaching staff.
The Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) told "Operative Information Center-OMM" that the situation was immediately brought under control. Following a comprehensive investigation, authorities determined that the claims made in the social media posts were entirely baseless. The teenager, a student at the school in question, was identified and apprehended by police officers.
In accordance with Azerbaijani legislation, the student's parents were summoned to the police department for preventive discussions. The case materials have been forwarded to the relevant commission under the local executive authority for further review. In Azerbaijan, the MIA and educational authorities maintain strict protocols regarding school safety and cyber-security to ensure the protection of students and faculty members.
Currently, investigations into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
