Emin Aliyev, accused of murdering Azerbaijani citizen Fatima Karimova in Georgia, has been detained at Batumi International Airport. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this information was confirmed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

According to official reports, the arrest of the suspect was carried out in close coordination with Turkish and Azerbaijani law enforcement counterparts, with the direct involvement of the Georgian police attaché in Turkey.

Fatima Karimova was murdered in Tbilisi on June 27. The suspect, Emin Aliyev, is also a citizen of Azerbaijan. The Prosecutor General's Office of Georgia has charged him with the intentional murder of a foreign citizen under aggravating circumstances. Under Georgian law, this offense carries a penalty of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.

This incident highlights the ongoing cooperation between regional law enforcement agencies in addressing cross-border criminal activities. Georgia and Azerbaijan maintain robust security partnerships, frequently collaborating on investigations involving citizens of both nations to ensure justice is served in high-profile criminal cases.
