By the end of this year, 11 additional families, comprising 45 people, will return to the village of Kichik Galadarasi in the Shusha district. This marks the next phase of the ongoing resettlement program for residents returning to their ancestral lands.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this information was presented to President Ilham Aliyev on July 11 during his visit to Kichik Galadarasi, where he inspected the progress of individual housing construction and infrastructure restoration projects.
Officials reported that the village consists of 66 individual houses. Of these, 19 were found to be unusable, while 47 were partially damaged. Restoration efforts have been successful, with 26 homes already prepared for occupancy, and an additional 21 homes scheduled for completion next year. In the initial phase of the resettlement, 15 families, totaling 51 people, have already returned to their homes in the village.
The restoration of Kichik Galadarasi is part of the broader 'Great Return' program, a strategic initiative launched by the government of Azerbaijan to rebuild liberated territories in the Garabagh region. This program focuses on constructing modern residential infrastructure, schools, and essential services to ensure the sustainable reintegration of former internally displaced persons into their native lands.
