In accordance with the "First State Program on the Great Return to the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan," another group of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) has returned to Khojavand village in the Khojavand district. On Tuesday, 32 families consisting of 135 people reached their native lands, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing resettlement process.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the resettled families were previously living in temporary accommodations, including dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings across various parts of Azerbaijan. The returning residents expressed their deep gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for the comprehensive state care and the restoration of their homes. They also paid tribute to the Azerbaijani Army and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the territories, wishing health to the veterans.
The resettlement of Khojavand village is part of a broader national strategy to revitalize the Garabagh and East Zangazur regions. Since the liberation of these territories, the government of Azerbaijan has invested heavily in modern infrastructure, including the construction of roads, schools, and healthcare facilities to ensure a sustainable and high-quality life for returning citizens. The "Great Return" program aims to repatriate hundreds of thousands of IDPs who were displaced during the nearly 30-year occupation, transforming the liberated areas into thriving economic hubs.
