Şuşa TDT-nin dini liderlərinin ilk görüşünə ev sahibliyi edir

On June 30, the city of Shusha is set to host the inaugural meeting of heads of state agencies responsible for religious affairs from member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the State Committee for Work with Religious Associations of Azerbaijan.

The summit is expected to feature the participation of the OTS Secretary General, as well as the leadership of religious authorities from member states, including Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting aims to expand joint activities, promote the exchange of experience, and strengthen partnerships among Turkic nations, which share a common history and deep-rooted national, spiritual, and cultural values. A key agenda item is the establishment of a formal cooperation mechanism for religious state agencies within the OTS framework, designed to enhance coordination and create a sustainable working platform.

The event is expected to conclude with the signing of a Communiqué reflecting the agreements reached during the discussions.

Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, has increasingly become a venue for high-level international events since its liberation in 2020. Hosting this summit underscores the city's growing role as a hub for diplomatic and cultural dialogue within the Turkic world, further integrating the region into international cooperation frameworks.
