Due to essential repair and construction work being carried out on the main water pipeline supplying parts of Sumgait, a temporary suspension of water supply will occur tomorrow, June 8.
The Sumgait Water Canal Department informed the Operative Information Center-OMM that starting from 09:00 AM until the end of the day, water service will be interrupted for approximately 12,000 subscribers. The affected areas include Kotec settlement, Kimyachilar settlement, Samad Vurgun Street, the 26th micro-district, Khazar Gardens, Boulevard, and Mida Boulevard.
The utility provider noted that the interruption is necessary to facilitate critical infrastructure upgrades on the main pipeline. Residents in the affected areas are advised to prepare for the temporary service outage.
Sumgait, located on the Absheron Peninsula, is the second-largest city in Azerbaijan and a major industrial hub. The city's water infrastructure is managed by the state-owned Azersu OJSC, which frequently conducts maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the water supply network across the country.
