ABŞ İran ətrafında dəniz blokadasına başlayır: CENTCOM xəbərdarlığı

The United States is preparing to implement a comprehensive maritime blockade around Iran, targeting the country's key shipping routes and energy infrastructure.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has issued formal advisories to international shipping companies regarding the upcoming operations, according to Reuters.

U.S. military forces are scheduled to deploy across the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea to enforce the blockade. The measures are set to take effect on Monday at 17:00 Moscow time. According to the official statement from CENTCOM, any vessel entering or exiting the designated blockade zone without authorization will be subject to interception, diversion, and seizure.

The blockade is expected to encompass Iran's entire coastline, specifically focusing on major commercial ports and strategic oil terminals. While the restrictions are stringent, CENTCOM noted that exceptions will be made for humanitarian shipments. Vessels carrying food, medicine, and other essential goods will be permitted to pass, provided they undergo mandatory inspections by U.S. naval authorities.

This escalation comes amid heightened regional tensions and follows a series of strategic directives from the administration of US President Donald Trump. The move is seen as a significant intensification of the maximum pressure campaign against Tehran, aimed at further isolating the Iranian economy and restricting its maritime trade capabilities. The Gulf of Oman remains one of the world's most critical maritime corridors, serving as a primary transit point for global energy supplies.
