The US State Department has authorized the voluntary departure of non-essential embassy personnel and their family members from Israel due to escalating security concerns.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing foreign media, that the decision follows a comprehensive review of the current safety environment in the region.

"On February 27, the State Department sanctioned the departure of diplomatic mission employees who do not perform critical functions, as well as their family members, in connection with security risks in Israel," the statement reads. The department further advised travelers to reconsider plans to visit Israel and the West Bank due to terrorism and civil unrest, while explicitly warning against travel to the Gaza Strip, northern border regions, and areas adjacent to the Egyptian border.

This move comes amid heightened regional tensions and a volatile security landscape in the Middle East. Such authorizations are typically issued by the State Department when the safety of government personnel cannot be guaranteed or when local conditions significantly impact the operation of diplomatic missions. US President Donald Trump's administration continues to monitor the situation closely, maintaining a focus on the protection of American citizens and interests abroad while coordinating with regional allies to ensure stability.
