The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has announced that it carried out attacks against two US military bases located in Kuwait.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the IRGC released an official statement confirming the strikes.
"We launched drone strikes on a major military equipment depot belonging to US forces at the Ali Al-Salem Air Base, targeting Patriot air defense systems and hangars housing MQ-9 unmanned aerial vehicles. Additionally, we attacked the deployment point of US military personnel at the Al-Adiri barracks and two helicopter hangars," the statement noted.
The IRGC reported that the attacks resulted in several casualties among military personnel and caused significant damage to helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles. Furthermore, the organization claimed to have struck a US-owned telecommunications tower in the region.
This escalation comes amid heightened geopolitical instability in the Middle East, a region where the United States maintains a significant military presence to support its strategic interests and regional allies. The IRGC, a branch of the Iranian Armed Forces, has frequently engaged in rhetoric and actions challenging US military deployments across the Persian Gulf, citing opposition to Western influence in the region.
