ABŞ Senatından İranla bağlı kritik qərar

The US Senate has rejected a resolution that sought to prohibit the administration from using military force against Iran without explicit authorization from the legislative body. During a procedural vote, 47 senators supported the document, while 52 senators voted against it, effectively blocking the measure.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that for the document to be approved in the upper house of Congress, which is currently under the control of the Republican Party, it required a simple majority during both procedural and final voting stages. A similar vote is expected to take place on Thursday in the US House of Representatives, which is also led by members of US President Donald Trump's party.

The Washington Post previously projected that the likelihood of these documents being approved by the US Congress remains low. Analysts note that even if the measure were to pass both chambers, US President Donald Trump maintains the constitutional authority to exercise his veto power. This legislative tension comes amid ongoing regional security concerns and the broader debate over executive war powers in Washington. Historically, such resolutions are used by lawmakers to assert congressional oversight over foreign military engagements, though they rarely overcome the threshold required to bypass a presidential veto.
