The 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) is currently underway in Shanghai, China, serving as a global platform for showcasing cutting-edge innovations, fostering international cooperation, and discussing technological regulation. More than 1,100 companies are participating in the event, which highlights the rapid evolution of the AI sector.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the conference spans over 100,000 square meters of exhibition space, featuring more than 3,000 products and technologies. Notably, over 300 of these technologies are being unveiled to the global public for the first time. Among the exhibits drawing significant attention is the "Qiji T1000" robotic horse, capable of carrying loads of up to 1,000 kilograms.

During the conference, China introduced a new action plan for the development of artificial intelligence, alongside several initiatives aimed at expanding international cooperation in the field. In his address, Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the critical importance of global collaboration and the necessity of ensuring the safe and ethical development of artificial intelligence technologies.

The WAIC has established itself as a premier venue for industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers to converge. As AI continues to reshape global industries—from logistics and manufacturing to healthcare and finance—such international forums play a pivotal role in setting standards and addressing the complex challenges posed by the rapid integration of machine learning and autonomous systems into daily life.
