Law enforcement agencies in the Sabirabad district have successfully seized approximately 10 kilograms of illicit narcotics, according to the regional group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) press service.
The operation, which was reported to the Operative Information Center-OMM, resulted in the detention of 34-year-old Imran Shabanov. He is suspected of organizing the illegal trafficking of controlled substances. During the search, authorities confiscated a significant quantity of heroin, hashish, and marijuana.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and a court has ordered a pre-trial detention measure for the suspect as the investigation continues. The Ministry of Internal Affairs regularly conducts such operations across Azerbaijan as part of a broader national strategy to combat drug trafficking and organized crime, which remains a key priority for maintaining public safety and order in the country.
