Russian air and missile strikes on Ukraine's Sumy region have resulted in two fatalities and left two others injured.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this information was confirmed by Ukrainian police authorities.
Reports indicate that the attacks on the northeastern Sumy region involved a combination of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), aerial bombs, and missiles, leading to civilian casualties. The situation remains volatile in Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, where strikes resulted in injuries to nine people, including four children, all of whom have received medical attention.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated that relevant authorities are taking necessary measures to address the condition of the injured and manage the aftermath of the strikes. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that on the night of June 19, 133 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed over various regions of the country and the Black Sea.
The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which escalated significantly in February 2022, continues to result in frequent cross-border strikes. Both nations frequently report drone and missile activity, with international observers closely monitoring the humanitarian impact on civilian populations in affected regions like Sumy and Kharkiv.
