The trilateral negotiation process for the Russia-Ukraine settlement has been temporarily suspended, according to official statements from the Kremlin.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed the pause in the diplomatic process. Peskov attributed the suspension to the current administrative focus in Washington, noting that it is presently difficult to convene meetings in the trilateral format. "The United States has many other matters to attend to. Therefore, it is currently difficult to meet in a trilateral format. At the same time, the Ukrainians continue their negotiations with the Americans. We also continue to exchange information with the US through our existing channels," Peskov stated.
The suspension comes amid a complex geopolitical landscape where international mediators have frequently sought to establish a sustainable ceasefire and a long-term diplomatic resolution. Trilateral discussions involving Moscow, Kyiv, and Washington have historically served as a primary framework for addressing security guarantees and territorial concerns. While formal high-level meetings are on hold, the maintenance of communication channels between the Kremlin and the White House suggests that technical diplomatic links remain active to prevent further escalation in the region.
