Russia and the member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have unanimously expressed their support for the agreement reached between the United States and Iran.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin following the Russia-ASEAN summit held in Kazan.
According to Putin, the parties welcomed the agreements aimed at ending the military conflict between Washington and Tehran and establishing the foundations for a future peace treaty. "We unanimously welcomed the agreements reached between the Iranian and American sides to end the military conflict and work on the parameters of a future peace treaty," the Russian leader emphasized.
He noted that the efforts made by the international community in this direction are of great importance for ensuring stability and security in the region. Putin further stated that Russia continues to support dialogue and diplomatic solutions with various countries.
The Russia-ASEAN summit serves as a critical platform for deepening economic and political ties between Moscow and the Southeast Asian bloc. By aligning on major international security issues, such as the US-Iran de-escalation, both Russia and ASEAN aim to project a unified stance on regional stability, emphasizing the importance of multilateral diplomacy in resolving long-standing geopolitical tensions.
