Renowned Azerbaijani dentist dies in Baku after surgery

Shahin Tofiq oghlu Tagiyev, born in 1995, died after undergoing surgery in Baku on Aug. 31.

"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports that Tagiyev, a dentist, died after his condition deteriorated following the operation.

His relatives said Shahin Tagiyev underwent surgery at the hospital of the State Border Service at the end of last month because of a gallbladder problem. His condition subsequently worsened, and he was transferred to a private clinic. The young doctor remained in intensive care for an extended period because of internal bleeding and other complications. Nearly 80 people donated blood for him.

However, despite the efforts of his relatives, doctors were unable to save his life.

It should be noted that Shahin Tagiyev was among the first graduates of NDU's dentistry program. He worked as a dentist and implantologist at well-known clinics in Baku and Sumgait. (Qafqazinfo)
