Qalibafdan ABŞ-yə mesaj: “Dolların hegemonluğu artıq başa çatır”

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament and a key representative of Tehran in negotiations with the United States, has underscored the necessity of developing a new economic strategy to counter US sanctions. Speaking at a meeting with business representatives from Iran and Iraq in Baghdad, Ghalibaf highlighted the need for a unified approach to mitigate the impact of economic pressures.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Ghalibaf stated that Tehran must develop a concrete roadmap to circumvent US-imposed sanctions and reduce the efficacy of economic restrictions. He argued that the US and Israel have shifted their strategies, realizing that they cannot defeat Iran and Iraq through direct military confrontation.

Ghalibaf claimed that current efforts have pivoted from military intervention to economic warfare. He emphasized the necessity of creating new mechanisms to effectively combat what he termed "unjust sanctions" that target the resources and raw materials of Muslim nations. Furthermore, he proposed reducing dependence on the US dollar in trade relations, criticizing the reliance on outdated trade methods and urging for the expanded use of national currencies.

"The era of US hegemony in the world is coming to an end, and countries must form new mechanisms for economic relations," Ghalibaf asserted.

It should be noted that US President Donald Trump has previously announced the initiation of large-scale economic operations against Iran, calling on allies to align with Washington's policy. Tensions between the two nations have escalated significantly in recent periods. US military forces have conducted a series of strikes against Iran in response to actions against vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, while Tehran has responded by striking US bases in the Middle East and closing the Strait of Hormuz. On August 18, US President Donald Trump stated that the United States has no plans to engage in negotiations with Iran under the current circumstances.
