Cooperation between the prosecution, judicial, and justice systems of Azerbaijan and Türkiye has been discussed in Baku, the Operative Information Center-OMM reports.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev received a delegation led by Yusuf Kuzu, Chairman of the 2nd Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Türkiye, who is currently on a visit to Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the Prosecutor General emphasized that the strategic partnership between the two brotherly nations, based on National Leader Heydar Aliyev's "one nation, two states" principle, is developing successfully across all sectors. He noted that the visionary foreign policy of President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strengthened friendly relations. Kamran Aliyev highlighted that regular meetings, close contacts, and mutual visits within international frameworks—including participation in platforms such as the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum—play a crucial role in advancing cooperation between the legal systems and legal professionals of both countries.
Furthermore, the Prosecutor General expressed his condolences regarding the armed attack on a school in the cities of Sanliurfa and Kahramanmaras, which resulted in numerous casualties, mostly children. He wished patience to the families of the victims and a speedy recovery to the injured.
Yusuf Kuzu, Chairman of the 2nd Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Türkiye, expressed gratitude for the hospitality and underscored the high level of cooperation between the prosecution, court, and justice authorities of the two nations. The parties affirmed the successful continuation of legal ties and stressed the importance of organizing professional development training for judges and prosecutors, expressing confidence in the further expansion of these relations.
Azerbaijan and Türkiye maintain a comprehensive strategic alliance formalized by the Shusha Declaration signed in 2021. This partnership extends beyond defense and economy to include deep integration of legal frameworks and judicial exchange programs, aimed at harmonizing regional security and legal standards between the two Turkic states.
