Weather conditions across Azerbaijan are expected to be unstable and intermittently rainy during the first ten days of April.
The National Hydrometeorological Service informed the Operative Information Center-OMM that Baku and the Absheron Peninsula will experience occasional rainfall from the afternoon of April 4 until the afternoon of April 6. There is a high probability of intensive precipitation in several parts of the peninsula during this period.
In the regions of Azerbaijan, unstable weather is forecasted to begin in the western districts on the morning of April 4 and continue until the morning of April 7. Forecasters predict intensive rainfall in various areas, with particularly heavy downpours in eastern districts. The weather event is expected to include lightning, hail, and snow in higher mountainous elevations. Water levels in rivers are anticipated to rise, with short-term floods and mudflows possible in some mountain rivers, particularly those in the Guba-Gusar region.
Following the initial wave of precipitation, a brief pause is expected on the afternoon of April 7 and throughout April 8. However, the National Hydrometeorological Service notes that rainy conditions are projected to return starting from the afternoon of April 9. Such seasonal weather fluctuations are typical for the South Caucasus region during early spring, as transitioning air masses often lead to increased atmospheric instability and localized hydro-meteorological risks.
