US President Donald Trump has made a significant statement regarding the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Trump claimed in an interview with Fox News that the United States has taken control of the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. According to him, Iran no longer holds a dominant position in the region, and the US is now in full control of the situation.

Reports indicate that one of the primary drivers of the renewed tension between Washington and Tehran stems from ambiguities regarding the management of the Strait of Hormuz within the ceasefire agreement signed in June. The agreement reportedly only stipulated that Iran would make efforts to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels, while the roles of the US and Oman in this process were not explicitly defined.

Furthermore, Iran had reportedly planned to collect transit fees from vessels passing through the strait for logistics services and share a portion of the revenue with Oman. In response, Oman proposed the creation of two separate transport corridors in the waterway. The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has accused Washington of obstructing these negotiations, alleging that the US administration has sought to establish de facto control over the section of the strait near the Omani coast.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints, serving as the primary route for a significant portion of global oil exports. Its geopolitical significance has long made it a focal point for international security and diplomatic maneuvering between regional powers and global actors.
