"Azərbaycan və Ermənistan arasında sülh prosesi Trampın komandası ilə başladı"

US President Donald Trump has shared an article by his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, marking the first anniversary of the signing of the peace declaration between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Witkoff stated that the Washington-led peace process began in March 2025 with a visit by the Trump administration to Baku. The US delegation was reportedly impressed by the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, with Witkoff describing the head of state as a "strong and decisive leader" who is prepared to make difficult decisions for the sake of peace.

The article highlights that following more than three decades of conflict, significant documents have been signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia aimed at achieving lasting peace, economic cooperation, and the normalization of relations. To support this, the US has introduced the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) transit initiative. Witkoff noted that Washington is currently working on railway engineering studies and investment mechanisms to implement these agreements. Furthermore, the TRIPP concept is being evaluated for potential expansion across the Caspian Sea and application in the Middle East. Witkoff also mentioned that a document has been signed regarding the joint nomination of US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
