President of the Republic of India Draupadi Murmu has sent a congratulatory letter to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the country's Independence Day.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the letter states:
“Your Excellency,
On the occasion of your country's Independence Day, I extend my sincere greetings and congratulations to Your Excellency, your Government, and the friendly people of Azerbaijan on behalf of the Government and people of India, as well as on my own behalf.
India and Azerbaijan share historical and cultural ties. In addition to people-to-people contacts, there is significant potential for further expanding our cooperation in economic and trade sectors.
I wish you good health and well-being, and progress and prosperity to the people of Azerbaijan.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and India were established in 1992, shortly after Azerbaijan regained its independence. Since then, the two nations have maintained a constructive dialogue, with cooperation spanning various sectors, including energy, pharmaceuticals, and information technology, reflecting the growing strategic importance of bilateral ties.
