President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Slovak Republic, Robert Kalinak, in Munich on February 13.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, during the conversation, the sides recalled with satisfaction the official visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Slovakia last December. It was emphasized that high-level mutual visits have provided a significant contribution to the development of bilateral relations between the two nations.
The meeting highlighted that the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia, which bear the character of a strategic partnership, are based on mutual understanding and support. Both parties noted the existing opportunities for expanding cooperation in various directions. In this regard, satisfaction was expressed over the development of partnership in the military-technical field, and an exchange of views took place regarding the future prospects of this collaboration.
Azerbaijan and Slovakia have been steadily strengthening their diplomatic and economic ties over recent years, particularly following the signing of a joint declaration on strategic partnership. As a key energy supplier to Europe, Azerbaijan plays an increasingly vital role in Slovakia's energy diversification strategy, while both nations continue to explore joint ventures in the defense industry and infrastructure sectors within the framework of European security cooperation.
