President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Abraham Hamadeh, a member of the US House of Representatives, on June 17.
According to the "Operative Information Center-OMM", President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the successful development of Azerbaijan-US relations following the inauguration of US President Donald Trump for his second term.
Highlighting the high level of his personal relationship with the US President, the head of state recalled his visits to the United States and meetings with Donald Trump, as well as the visit of Vice President J.D. Vance to Azerbaijan. President Aliyev noted that the signing of the "Strategic Partnership Charter between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United States of America" plays a historic role in expanding bilateral relations.
During the conversation, the parties touched upon the significance of Abraham Hamadeh's role as a co-sponsor of the bill introduced in the US Congress regarding the repeal of Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that Abraham Hamadeh's visit to the country would be successful. Expressing his pleasure at being in Azerbaijan, the guest noted the country's unique geographical location and highlighted that Azerbaijan hosts prestigious international sporting events such as UFC and Formula 1.
The discussion also focused on the efforts of the presidents of Azerbaijan and the United States to deepen their strategic partnership, noting that both leaders attach great importance to the development of interstate relations. The role of US President Donald Trump in advancing the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia was specifically highlighted, along with the opportunities that the TRIPP corridor will create for the development of regional transport connectivity.
The meeting included an exchange of views on strengthening the dialogue between Azerbaijan and the US Congress. The parties noted the significant opportunities for expanding cooperation in economic, trade, investment, energy, security, connectivity, technology, and other sectors, while discussing the future prospects of the Azerbaijan-US partnership.
