President Ilham Aliyev held a one-on-one meeting with the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed Ali, on February 27.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Presidential Press Service released information regarding the high-level encounter. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ethiopia in various sectors, including economy, trade, and international diplomacy.
The visit of the Ethiopian Prime Minister highlights Azerbaijan's growing role as a diplomatic hub and its commitment to strengthening ties with African nations. Ethiopia, as one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa and the seat of the African Union, represents a significant partner for Azerbaijan in the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement and other international platforms. Such high-level meetings serve to bolster mutual support within international organizations and explore new investment opportunities in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
