Following the Washington Summit organized by US President Donald Trump, Azerbaijan and Armenia are actively building cooperation to bring a definitive end to the long-standing conflict, President Ilham Aliyev announced.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the President of Azerbaijan made these remarks during the presentation ceremony of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity. The head of state emphasized the shifting dynamics in the region following high-level diplomatic engagements in the United States.
"I would also like to express my gratitude to US President Donald Trump for his contribution to peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia," the head of state added, underlining the significance of the Washington-led mediation efforts in achieving regional stability.
The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity is an international prize established to recognize individuals and entities making profound contributions to peaceful coexistence. Azerbaijan has consistently advocated for a peace agenda in the South Caucasus, focusing on the restoration of its liberated territories and the normalization of interstate relations with Armenia based on mutual recognition of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
