Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov has held a meeting with Arnout Damen, the Chief Executive Officer of the Damen Shipyards Group. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Cabinet of Ministers released an official statement regarding the discussions.
During the meeting, both parties noted the successful development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Damen Shipyards Group, expressing satisfaction with the company's active participation in various projects currently being implemented in the country.
The discussions highlighted that Azerbaijan’s strengthening position as an international transport and logistics hub, combined with its growing transit potential, creates significant new opportunities for expanding collaboration in the shipbuilding and maritime transport sectors.
The parties also explored prospects for broadening the partnership between Azerbaijan and the Damen Shipyards Group, specifically focusing on shipbuilding, the application of modern maritime technologies, and other areas of mutual interest.
Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev also attended the meeting.
Background: The Damen Shipyards Group is a globally recognized Dutch shipbuilding company with a long history of delivering vessels worldwide. Azerbaijan has been actively modernizing its maritime infrastructure, particularly through the Baku Shipyard, to enhance its capabilities in the Caspian Sea region and support the Middle Corridor transport route.
