Azerbaijan has dispatched its third humanitarian aid convoy to Iran, symbolizing the solidarity and moral support of the Azerbaijani people and government toward their neighbors. The initiative highlights the strengthening of bilateral ties through humanitarian cooperation during challenging periods for the region.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, these remarks were made by the Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mojtaba Demirchilu, in an interview with journalists. The ambassador emphasized that Iran is currently navigating a difficult period, making the support provided by Baku particularly significant.
"I would like to reiterate that the Azerbaijani government has taken specific initiatives in this area. Following the initial delivery of humanitarian aid, there are plans to continue these efforts. This demonstrates that Azerbaijan intends to maintain its support and once again showcase its solidarity," Demirchilu stated. Reports from AZERTAC further confirm that the aid packages consist of essential supplies aimed at addressing immediate needs in the affected areas.
Azerbaijan and Iran share a long history of diplomatic and cultural relations, often collaborating on regional infrastructure and energy projects. In recent years, the Republic of Azerbaijan has frequently acted as a key humanitarian partner in the region, providing assistance to neighboring countries during natural disasters or economic hardships to promote regional stability and mutual cooperation.
