Azerbaijani border guards have neutralized a border violator who attempted to cross the state border illegally. The incident occurred following a failure by the individual to comply with the lawful demands of the border service personnel.
According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the State Border Service, the use of force was authorized in accordance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the State Border." Despite the border guards' attempts to enforce compliance, the individual refused to stop, necessitating the use of service weapons.
The State Border Service reported that the wounded individual was provided with immediate first aid and evacuated to a specialized medical facility. However, despite the efforts of medical professionals, the individual could not be saved. In a separate but related development, the State Border Service also noted that in the past month, they successfully prevented one attempt to smuggle narcotics into the country via an unmanned aerial vehicle, highlighting the ongoing vigilance of border security forces in protecting the integrity of Azerbaijan's borders.
