The transition of state information resources and systems to the "Government Cloud" (G-Cloud) is scheduled for completion by December 2027, marking a significant milestone in the country's digital transformation strategy.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this initiative is outlined in the "Action Plan for 2026-2028 on Accelerating Digital Development," which was approved today by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the document, the plan aims to ensure that 100% of state IT infrastructure is managed through the "Government Cloud." This strategic move is designed to optimize operational costs, achieve significant budget savings, and strengthen the cyber resilience of Azerbaijan's national information systems against emerging global threats.
The financing for the measures stipulated in the Action Plan will be provided through the state budget and other legal sources. The project is part of a broader effort by the Government of Azerbaijan to modernize public administration and integrate advanced cloud-based solutions into the civil service framework, ensuring more efficient and secure data management across all state institutions.
