Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have met in Jeddah to discuss critical regional and international issues, with a specific focus on the ongoing diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), that the leaders reviewed the latest developments regarding the peace process between the United States and Iran. During the meeting, both parties touched upon the recent negotiations held in Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of de-escalation in the Middle East.

The Saudi Crown Prince underscored the necessity of continuing diplomatic initiatives to restore stability in the region. He highly praised the roles played by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, in facilitating the dialogue process. It was noted that Shehbaz Sharif is currently on a four-day diplomatic tour of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Türkiye ahead of the anticipated second round of US-Iran peace talks.

Pakistan has increasingly positioned itself as a key mediator between Iran and the administration of US President Donald Trump. Following a significant round of talks held in Islamabad on April 11-12, Pakistan continues to provide a neutral platform for high-level engagement. This mediation is seen as a vital component of broader regional security, aimed at preventing further conflict and fostering economic cooperation across the Islamic world.
