Reza Pahlavi, the son of the late Shah of Iran, has appealed to European leaders to support large-scale military operations led by the United States against the Iranian government.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the statement was initially published by Politico. Pahlavi asserted in his address that a potential military intervention would serve as a humanitarian mission aimed at saving numerous lives within the region.

While Pahlavi expressed approval of Europe's recent considerations regarding the designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a prohibited entity, he emphasized that such measures are insufficient.

“Europe must move beyond its current wait-and-see approach and take decisive steps. The proposed transition plan for the restoration of Iran must be supported. The international community must stand with the Iranian people,”

he stated.

However, the proposal has met with a divided response in Europe. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has condemned potential military actions by the US and Israel against Iran, describing such moves as unjustified. This follows Pahlavi's previous statements on February 28, where he voiced support for Israeli and US military operations in Iran, characterizing them as "humanitarian intervention."

The ongoing tensions come amid a significant shift in global geopolitics following the inauguration of US President Donald Trump in January 2025. The current US administration has signaled a more assertive stance regarding Middle Eastern security and Iranian influence. Historically, the Pahlavi family has remained a focal point for certain opposition groups abroad since the 1979 revolution, frequently calling for international pressure to facilitate political change in Tehran.
