At least 27 people have been killed in Iran's East Azerbaijan province following strikes attributed to Israel and the United States.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Tasnim News Agency released this information via its Telegram channel.
The Director General of Crisis Management for East Azerbaijan stated that over the past two days, various areas in the cities of Tabriz, Sarab, Maragheh, and Shabestar have been targeted. According to the official report, strikes on the city of Maragheh alone resulted in the deaths of 15 people a day earlier.
East Azerbaijan is one of the 31 provinces of Iran, located in the northwest of the country, bordering Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey. The province is a significant industrial and cultural hub, with its capital, Tabriz, being one of the most populous cities in the region. Such incidents in this border-adjacent province often lead to heightened regional tensions and increased security measures across the Middle East.
