One of the fundamental principles of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is to ensure the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor; however, these principles are not being fully implemented in practice.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Armenian media, that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed these concerns during a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Kyrgyzstan.
"For Armenia, strengthening cooperation with EAEU member states remains a priority of our foreign policy and foreign economic agenda. This approach will also be reflected in the program of Armenia's new government," Pashinyan stated.
Pashinyan emphasized that ignoring such systemic issues could not only hinder the future development of the EAEU but also negatively impact the perception of the Union among citizens and the business community of member states.
"Ultimately, these issues cease to be the problems of a single state and become common challenges for the entire union. Therefore, we must promptly remove emerging barriers, prevent the decline of trade and economic relations within the EAEU, minimize entrepreneurial risks, and consistently strengthen mutual trust. Strategic goals in several areas have not yet been fully achieved. This means that attention must now be focused on the practical implementation of already adopted decisions," he added.
The Eurasian Economic Union, established in 2015, is an economic union of post-Soviet states located in Eurasia. It aims to create a single market for goods and services, similar to the European Union's single market, to foster economic integration and regional stability among its member nations.
